About Us
First Baptist Church of Smoky Lake
We at the First Baptist Church in Smoky Lake affirm the Bible to be the inerrant Word of God and therefore it is our only rule of faith and practice. Thus we seek to derive our ministry from scriptures and conform it to the Scriptures. We are affiliated with the North American Baptist Conference but in practice we are independent to minister as a locally governed congregation guided by Scriptural principles.
We joyfully seek to share God's love in Jesus Christ. Our outreach by the grace of God, is to the neighborhood and to the world. We are anxious to do all we can to be available to you for your spiritual growth, prayer, counseling, or any other service we may be able to render in Christ's name and to His glory.

Core Beliefs
The kingdom of God is here, and we are all invited to enter a revolutionary way of life that holds the only hope for His dying creation. Under God’s demanding care and His compassionate rule, justice, peace, and celebration thrive; restoration and healing abound; reconciliation with God overflows.
Our Vision
Our Vision is to become an authentic community of Christ-followers, glorifying God by being committed to growing in our relationship with Him, joyfully living out our faith in obedience to Him, and making a positive impact with Him in the lives of people we touch.
Our Values
The core values of a church shape what – and who – it is. In order to be faithful to our Vision (what we hope to become) and our Mission (what we are to do), by God’s enabling, we will seek to create environments that practice these common Values. These values together, never in isolation, express the core, the heart of God’s kingdom purposes when we live them out as individuals and as His people.

Our Leaders
"What is Christian leadership? What should a Christian leader be like? There is no finer example for Christian leadership than our Lord Jesus Christ. He declared, “I am the good shepherd. The good shepherd lays down his life for the sheep” (John 10:11). It is within this verse that we see the perfect description of a Christian leader. He is one who acts as a shepherd to those “sheep” in his care."
Alberta Baptist Association
The association of these NAB churches in Alberta (ABA) is driven by a Kingdom perspective, which acknowledges and celebrates the fact that making disciples is a responsibility that goes far beyond the activities of my local church. We believe that faithfulness to Christ's commission means that helping a sister church make disciples is part of carrying out Christ's commission in my church.
North American Baptist Conference
The mission of the North American Baptist Conference is to glorify God by making disciples of Jesus Christ at home and internationally. This can best be accomplished as we combine the strength of all member churches. The International Office seeks to support this mission by helping churches and mission fields develop leaders who are able to multiply ministries in their respective settings.
